Shipment and Delivery of Products
Empco Flat Rate Shipping is recommended for orders destined to temperate climates. Express shipping is recommended for orders containing living organisms destined to extreme climates. To prevent overheating or freezing of living specimens, please be available to receive the package on the delivery date. Express shipping services ensure diminished transit time for living specimens, but may not accelerate shipment dispatch time. Please email Empco in advance if your order is urgent or time sensitive and we will confirm a delivery commitment date.
Customer Privacy & Security
Empco guarantees that all personal information including contact, billing, and shipping details will remain strictly confidential. Customer information is never provided to third parties for solicitation or data collection purposes. Empco does not send unsolicited electronic or conventional mail.
Product Guarantees & Replacements
Empco provides scientific products intended for academic and research applications. We fully guarantee the viability and quality of products to customers in academic or research sectors. In the event that items arrive damaged, claims must be submitted by email within 7 days of receipt of shipment. Product refunds cannot be offered to customers attempting to maintain algae in inadequate environments.
Express Shipments: Living organisms shipped via express service to locations in the United States are guaranteed to arrive alive. In the event that a living specimen expires in shipment, please notify Empco no later than 7 days after receiving the order. A replacement order will be issued. Due to the limitations of international shipping, including unforeseen delays at customs, international customers are required to pay for the shipping cost of any replacement order. 
Empco Flat Rate Shipments: This service includes the same warranty provided for Express Shipments, only for destinations with temperatures within the range of 25 °F (-4 °C) to 75 °F (24 °C). No warranty is included with Empco Flat Rate service for destinations with temperatures outside of this range. Empco Flat Rate service is intended for destinations with mild temperatures only.
Ground Shipments: Ground service is currently only available for non-living items.
Returns: Due to the perishable nature of living organisms and the sterility of accessories, return of non-damaged product is not accepted once the items have shipped. Requests for refunds will be honored prior to shipment only.
Product Ordering & Payment
All orders must be submitted online. Credit card, Paypal™, and purchase order are accepted.
Purchase orders are honored from institutions within the United States only, and are accepted via email only. To initiate a purchase order, proceed through online checkout. Further instructions will be provided during checkout for submitting a PO. A minimum sub-total of $99.00 is required for any purchase order. Payment for purchase orders is due within 30 days of invoice receipt.
