Marine growth media consist of filtered natural seawater enriched with everything necessary to grow bioluminescent algae: nitrogen, phosphorus, trace elements, and vitamins. All media are autoclave sterilized. Each month, algae must be transferred into new medium to continue growth. The natural seawater base is collected from Half Moon Bay, California.
