   I loved these dinoflagellates. They came on time, in a box with a cold pack. That night, they glowed a brilliant turquoise shade and where still glowing in the morning! I definitely recommend these for everyone. I give it 6 stars out of 5. If i ever need bioluminescent algae again, I am buying here. (Posted on 5/23/11)

   I used a large quantity of Empco's Pyrocistis fusiformis to conduct a research project for a biology course. After continuous problems with algae from a different retailer, I was recommended to the company by a phycologist friend who had purchased from Empco before. Not only was the sample completely devoid of contamination, it kept glowing despite my bumbling experimentation! One of Empco's staff even helped me get my project going in the right direction!    I was throughly impressed with my order of pyrocystis fusiformis. The algae were excellent specimens and exhibited bright blue bioluminescence upon the slightest disturbance of the medium.
